Magic Fire Music : , many thanks for agreeing to this interview and may I congratulate you and the rest of the band of course for ‘Wicked Maiden’, it’s a great return.
Chris Impellitteri : Thank you for the kind words !! We are very happy to be back !!

Magic Fire Music : Rock has come back on board, what led to getting Rob back in the band from a personal perspective?
Chris Impellitteri : Our fans wanted Rob back in the band. In addition, I felt a bit lost without his voice on the Impellitteri records. So, after I released Pedal to the Metal I called Rob on the phone and asked if he would be interested in returning to the band. Fortunately Rob agreed. Lastly, I think we have a strong writing chemistry which evokes good music.

Magic Fire Music : new album is arguably the heaviest of the band’s career. It's a return to our very first album ( The Black Impellitteri EP) isn't it? Why this choice?
Chris Impellitteri : I wanted to play music that is true to my personality and artistic integrity. So, Wicked Maiden is truly an Impellitteri record. It is completely original, and we are honestly passionate towards this sound. In addition, Wicked maiden is very much like the first Impellitteri black EP, but with a very big recording production.

Magic Fire Music : How would you compare "Pedal To The Metal" to "Wicked Maiden" and what are the main evolutions and changes for you?
Chris Impellitteri : Pedal to the Metal was a Parody of many different styles of music and artists. It was not intended to be an original Impellitteri record. The band was simply having fun paying tribute to other styles of metal.
On the other hand Wicked Maiden is an original Impellitteri record and it is intended to make a lasting impression on the audience. We hope that Wicked Maiden is played for many years to come by fans of our style of music.

Magic Fire Music : Where do you find your inspiration to create such melodic music ?
Chris Impellitteri : Impellitteri is a metal band, not a melodic rock band. However, I write the music to be memorable and enjoyable to the listener. So, even though we play heavy metal we do make it melodious.
The inspiration simply comes from practicing 8 hours a day.

Magic Fire Music : What is your favorite track on this album and why?
Chris Impellitteri : Wicked Maiden !! I think this song will live on forever. It is aggressive, exciting, memorable, and original. It features all of the elements of Impellitteri such as shredding guitar solos, screaming vocals, and a brutal rhythm section coupled with a fantastic production.

Magic Fire Music : I think of France, it will be impossible to see you. Do you regret not being able to come and play in Paris?
Chris Impellitteri : Perhaps soon!! Impellitteri will play the Sweden Rock Festival on the main stage June 6, 2009 with Heaven and Hell and Dream theatre.
