wow, had a great time yesterday in France, for the 3rd time we went to RF.
the idea for this festival is to support and bring progressive rock to the fans in France.

it's just an hrs drive for me and for once, the weathergods were on our side so I couldn't let this opportunity pass by.
I didn't see all 12 bands, here's a first impression on the ones I saw:

MANTICORA, cool Danish powermetalband, crazy bunch of guys that were on the festivalground whole day! too bad there was no Tuborg, LOL.

V8 WANKERS, straightforward rock 'n' roll ala Rose Tattoo.

LEAVES' EYES, the goth fans also got their piece of the cake with this band, not bad.

ANDROMEDA, wow, this was one of the bands I came for and they didn't dissapoint at all, great musicians, great vocals, great progmetal!

AXXIS, got no positive comments on this German band, they sure had prepared some interaction with the (mostly) French crowd and with success.

they put a local blonde onstage that couldn't speak English, nor sing nor had any feel for rhythm. couldn't finish their set coz of that either.

ADAGIO, the local prog-gods were awesome, great band indeed! can't wait to see a full show of them, let's hope next album/tour brings them to Belgium! Fun part of the show was their cover version of "Fame", very un-prog but the fans love it!

EDGUY, starring "Hellfire Toby & The Edgirls" proved once more to be the funniest metalband in the world. this bands takes their music serious but live they're anything but that,LOL. Tobias talks too much but after all these years we're used to it, he's a great performer, any band would like a crazy fokker like him in front.

Let's not forget the second stage with the newbies, unknown or unsigned bands.

2 Previous years most of them were hardcore or related but this year the festival offered us a very varied second stage.

LONEWOLF, old scool metal and when I say they played the Quiet Riot tune "metal health" you all know what the vocals are like.

VALKYRE, goth folk metal.

CRISTAL, neoclassical power they call themselves on their 5-track cd, not bad for a new band from Brussels.
